QA+M Wins Three New Community Projects
May 7, 2019

QA+M Architecture has won three new Community and Recreation projects, including the Rocky Hill Senior and Community Center, the Hartford Police Athletic League, and the Northern Middlesex YMCA.

For Rocky Hill‘s $10.5-million renovation project, QA+M will design a 9,650-square-foot addition to the town hall to accommodate the needs of the town’s growing senior population. The space will double as both a center for seniors to enjoy activities and socialize, and a community center that all residents can use. The new combined center will include several multi-purpose rooms, a game room, and a cafe area with a kitchen for social gatherings. The project’s anticipated completion date is January 2021.

Additionally, QA+M has been chosen by the Capital Region Development Authority to renovate and improve the Hartford Police Athletic League (PAL), a non-profit unit within the city’s police department that provides after-school and summer programs for local youth. The $7.5-million project at the Quirk West Building in Hartford includes renovations to the pool, auditorium, gymnasium, and locker rooms.

QA+M Architecture will also renovate and expand the Northern Middlesex YMCA in Middletown, CT. The $8-million project is 25,000 square feet of construction, half of which is a building addition, and the other half a renovation. The program includes an administrative area, lobby, locker rooms, child-watch area, community/multipurpose room, gymnasium, group exercise studios, indoor aquatics, and more.

“We are thrilled to help our clients improve their facilities and better serve their communities,” says Tom Arcari, QA+M’s Principal in Charge.
