The future of construction starts with the conversations we have today, and the Women Who Build Summit is exactly where those conversations begin.

We were proud to sponsor and attend this dynamic two-day experience, designed to energize passion, engage the community, and evolve the impact of women in the construction and design industries. QA+M’s own Dinea Frasca, LEED Green Associate, Julia McFadden, AIA, ALEP, WELL AP, Carolina Hernandez, Lori Donadio, AIA, NCARB, and Erin Benken, AIA attended the summit and had the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals and take part in workshops that were both informative and inspiring.

The workshop lineup reflected the depth and range of conversations happening across the industry right now.

Building a Home Building a Movement – presented by Shabana Basij-Rasikh of the School of Leadership Afghanistan, explored the powerful intersection of education, advocacy, and impact.

AI as Your Competitive Edge: Real Women, Real Stories, Real Impact – brought together Iramis Luz Audet of Cumming Group, Sarah Farrell of Perkins and Will, Elena Miller of DOC, and Cathy Murphy of USG Ceilings to discuss how women in the industry are leveraging artificial intelligence in practical, meaningful ways.

Building Forward: Women Who Opened Doors and Those Who Are Expanding Them – featured Amanda Crowl of Turner Construction Company, Amanda Forde of the Massachusetts State College Building Authority, Lindsey Fortunato of Fortunato Construction Group, and Karri May of A/Z Corporation, moderated by Michelle Scarpone of CBIZ, in a conversation about the progress that has been made and the work that still lies ahead.

Events like the Women Who Build Summit serve a purpose that goes beyond a single day of scheduling. Through a curated blend of education, insight, and confidence-building interactions, the summit creates space for women and men to connect and champion the next generation of industry leaders. That mission aligns closely with the values we hold at QA+M, where we believe that diverse voices and perspectives lead to stronger teams and better work.

We are grateful to have been a part of this year’s summit and hope to see the momentum behind events like this continue to grow. We cannot wait for next year.
