We are proud to share that QA+M Architecture has received two honors at the CBC 30th Annual Project Team Awards, one of the most respected recognition programs in the Connecticut construction and design industry.
First Place – Healthcare Small: Beacon Hill Medical Center, Southington CT
Completed in 2025, the Beacon Hill Medical Center has become home to the Southington location for Comprehensive Orthopedics. The project presented an immediate design challenge in the form of a steeply sloped site. Rather than working around it, the final design embraces the terrain and provides ground level access to both floors of the 2-story, 24,000 square foot structure, directly improving the patient experience from the moment they arrive.
In addition to the core and shell design, we completed a 14,000 square foot interior fit-out for the building’s physician owners. The layout includes multiple orthopedic treatment and exam rooms, support spaces, x-ray rooms, and a complete MRI facility. The remaining 10,000 square feet of interior space will be occupied by Hartford Healthcare for general physician offices, with that final phase currently in the design stage.
Award of Merit – Pre-K through 12 Schools: North Branford High School, North Branford CT
The North Branford High School project is a clear example of what true collaboration can accomplish. From early planning through final turnover, every partner including educators, town officials, an owner’s representative, architects, engineers, and technology specialists worked as a unified team with a shared purpose. Students and community members were engaged throughout the process, reinforcing the project’s mission at every stage.
Complex site, phasing, and technical challenges were met with transparency and creativity. The result was a state-of-the-art school delivered on time and under budget, an outcome made possible only through genuine partnership from start to finish.
Both projects reflect something we believe deeply at QA+M. The best work happens when the right people come together around a shared goal, and the CBC 30th Annual Project Team Awards are a meaningful recognition of the teams that made these projects possible.
Thank you to the Connecticut Building Congress for this honor, and to every person who helped bring these projects from initial design to reality.
