Saint Anthony Hall
Saint Anthony Hall is a literary fraternity occupying this historic French Gothic revival building on the Trinity College campus in Hartford. Over its 120-year existence, the building's interior and exterior fabric and mechanical systems had deteriorated. The restoration of the building, including exterior masonry, slate roofs, stained glass, and decorative painted finishes. The design of a new code compliant stair tower was inspired by the original building's design and was proposed because it would be more stylistically compatible. At the same time, new mechanical and electrical systems and plumbing upgrades were carefully introduced into the existing building interiors so that they would be least intrusive.

More Information

The new stair tower is a seamless addition to the building, both in material and massing. The new structure clad with rusticated granite to match the existing building provides a code compliant fire stair and handicap chair lift. The stair tower addition was completed in 2002, and the interior renovations and restoration in 2005.
