The North Stonington Elementary School was reconfigured as a PK – 6th grade facility for enrollment of 456 students. The two-story 57,000-SF building was a renovate as new project with all new MEP & FP infrastructure, and support spaces were repurposed for the media center and cafeteria. Security was addressed by providing secure vestibules and administrative offices were relocated to the main entrance. A 3,500-SF addition was constructed to accommodate the music and arts programs. All HazMat, which included asbestos and significant areas with PCBs, were removed from the building, resulting in the removal of all interior walls. Technology, FFE, and playground design / installation were included in the project.
