New Britain Public Library
Located in the Walnut Historic District, the purpose of this project is to provide architectural services to renovate and repair the Erwin and Hawley buildings of the Library. The 1901 Beaux-Arts style Erwin building requires window refinishing and terra cotta repair, including new castings. The 1931 Hawley building needs roof repairs including replacement of slate roof tiles, copper flashings, and cupola restoration. Ultimately, this work will enrich and preserve the Library’s historic presence.
