Greater Middletown Military Museum
Once funds were secured, it was time for the Greater Middletown Military Museum (GMMM) to implement their vision of a museum. With guidance from the GMMM’s vision and budget, it was designed a 3,000 SF building where all ages can experience the area’s military history and honor the service of its veterans.

More Information

The Vision of the Museum is to provide a unique setting for age groups to experience the area’s military history and to honor the service of its veterans. The library will display the artifacts from the many conflicts which involved area serviceman. It will maintain a multi-media library containing books, newsreels, oral histories, and video stream displays chronicling local military connections to the Revolution, Civil War, World Wars and be continually updated to including current military involvements.

This Museum will evolve into a destination for public interest in military history and education.

The building’s exterior and grounds will be a monument to the service of our Military Veterans with permanent displays of military equipment.

Seasonal displays and reenactments will help amplify the museum’s mission and advertise is presence.

Seasonal landscape displays connected by walkways with perennial flower beds and a formal flag garden will temper the overarching military aura. The client agreed on a simple 3,000 SF plan with a high clearstory of windows.

Materials for the building were selected for their durability and low maintenance.
