Carriage Maker Place provides 32 units of new, affordable housing for independent senior living.
A project of the Winchester Housing Authority Development Corporation, this project utilized a variety of public funding sources to realize its goals. All of the units are ADA compliant and incorporate energy-efficient design and construction techniques.
The project also utilized available brown-field remediation funds to clean up the site, which contained deteriorating buildings and underground tanks.
The Carriage Maker Place revitalization provides a new energy to the neighborhood, central to downtown Winsted.
